Hiring an Accounting Assistant that supports the Finance & Accounting team by performing daily accounting tasks with a focus on NetSuite ERP system utilisation. In addition, this role provides remote general office administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for maintaining accuracy and efficiency in financial processes while assisting with office coordination and clerical duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting Responsibilities
- Enter and reconcile financial transactions in NetSuite, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reports, and journal entries.
- Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payments in a timely manner.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and reporting schedules.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with audit and retention policies.
- Support the preparation of internal financial reports and external audit requirements.
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate coding, approvals, and timely processing of transactions.
- Processing customer payments, answering AR email, and making collection calls.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for office-related inquiries (phone, email, visitors).
- Maintain office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and organizing company events.
- Manage document filing systems (digital and physical).
- Provide clerical support including data entry, scanning, copying, and correspondence preparation.
- Ensure the office environment is organized, professional, and compliant with company policies.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency in NetSuite required; experience with ERP systems strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
