Manager/Supervisor

We specialize in modifying shipping containers, including welding, interior build-outs, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work. We need a supervisor who has a solid understanding of all major construction trades and can effectively oversee and coordinate these scopes on the production floor.

The ideal candidate should be experienced in managing multi-trade projects, organizing workflows, ensuring quality control, and keeping projects on schedule. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as this role will involve coordinating between different teams and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations

  • Plan, organise, and manage daily production schedules to meet output targets.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Optimize resource allocation including labor, materials, and machinery.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to implement and maintain quality systems.
  • Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and develop production staff and supervisors.
  • Foster a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce workplace safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental and operational regulations.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs to drive decision-making.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reduce excess or shortages.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the container, packaging, or related industry.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Knowledge of production processes (plastic, metal, or containers preferred).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
